Mark and I met in San Diego, California. We had both been living there for two years. Mark was finishing the Master program at University of San Diego and I was freelancing with different companies around San Diego.

In 2004, the Super Bowl came to San Diego. The sports marketing company Mark was working for was looking for a graphic designer to design print collateral for an event during the Super Bowl. That is where I come in. At that time, Mark was visiting Boston for Christmas and I met with the owner to begin work on the project. He mentioned to me, that Mark would be directing the event so all correspondents will run through him. Three weeks and many phone calls we still had not met and the anticipation of us meeting was building. I knew from his voice he was going to be “cute.” We had planned to meet the night of the event, however things went a rye at the printer and we had to meet each other before the event.
